A loyal servant in recent years for the Parramatta Eels, a new journey beckons for Brad Takairangi who will join Super League side, Hull KR.
Takairangi, a Cook Islands and New Zealand international enjoyed a career of almost 200 NRL games across numerous clubs.
Starting out with the Sydney Roosters, Takairangi would go on to play for the Gold Coast Titans and most recently, the Parramatta Eels.
Takairangi will link up with former team-mates Mose Masoe, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, and Kane Linnett at the club.
Hull KR coach Tony Smith is pleased to have Takairangi on board for 2021 and beyond.
“He’s a very experienced player with a lot of versatility,” Smith said.
“Brad is able to play in the back-row, centres and stand-off.
“His versatility and experience will be enormous for us and will add to our strength in depth in a number of positions.”
Smith had a glowing endorsement of Takairangi’s career and backs the utility to take on a leadership role with Hull KR.
“Should we need him to fill in any of those positions he will be more than comfortable and proficient,” Smith continued.
“Brad is fresh off the back of a successful 2020 campaign with Paramatta Eels, where he starred in the semi-finals.
He’s played at the international level and nearly 200 games in the NRL, so he brings experience in various roles.
“He’s at the stage of his career where he’s in the leadership group, so he will help us further develop the younger players.”
