We may still be in the swing of things for season 2022 but player transfers for season 2023 continue, with the Parramatta Eels confirming the signing of Newcastle Knights forward Jirah Momoisea.

Momoisea originally hails from New Zealand and will sign with the Eels on a two-year deal.

Initially a rugby union player as evidenced by his appointment as captain at St Paul’s College in New Zealand, it was not until 2017 that Momoisea moved to Sydney.

His NRL debut came last year in round 23 and Momoisea confirmed to his current Knights teammates that although he will depart season’s end, he is committed to the end.

Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill says the Eels are looking forward to welcoming Momoisea into their system from next year.

“Jirah is a talented young forward who has a great attitude both on and off the field,” O’Neill said.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming him to our Club next season.”
